If the tread on your tires is low, they won't be able to properly grip the road and provide the traction you need. You can check tread depth by inserting a penny, face down, into the grooves of the tire. You shouldn't be able to see the top of Lincoln's head. If you can, it's time for a replacement.
If you notice uneven wear while inspecting your tires, this could be a sign of poor wheel alignment, improper inflation, or another issue. Another telltale sign it's time to shop for new tires is if you notice a bubble on the side of the tire or if the rubber is cracked.
